Podcasts at Woodlands School

We were working in Woodlands School with Leo Holloway this past summer to produce podcasts and teach pupils how to make ones themselves. We got to work with groups of kids from English, Music and Geography, all with a different aims and take on what the content should be. For example, geography was doing earthquakes as their general topic that term so we decided to write and record a comedy radio play that was fun to listen to but also has useful facts about earthquakes. Have a listen below.

Download the original MP3 file: earthquake-podcast.mp3

Rest of the podcasts are available at Woodlands Norsu.tv site, here.

Podcasts make a great framework for pupils to work on as they first need to research the subject well and then be able re-tell it in their own words. If you’re interested in learning more about podcasting, get in touch!

The Record Collector

Sanders Chase runs a record store called The Record Collector in West Hollywood, LA. The store is a fantastic home of over 500.000 records; rows and shelves of classical, jazz and blues albums. What I find interesting in these portraits is that you can feel that time has stopped. Nothing has changed in the five years that was in between my two visits. The place feels like vinyl sounds. You can find more about The Record Collector on their website.

Elisabeth Edlbauer, Designer

Elisabeth Edlbauer is fashion designer and a good friend of ours. The first four shots here we’re taken at Restoration House in Rochester, the very same building Charles Dickens based his book Great Expectation in. The last two photographs are for Elisabeths subsequent collection. You can find more about her at: edlbruck.com
